Prepare for your visit to Joscure

A short checklist covering documents, fasting, registration, consultation, payment and follow-up.

  1. What to bring

    • National ID, passport or birth certificate for children
    • Insurance card, SHA number or scheme details
    • Previous prescriptions, test results or referral letters
    • A list of medication you currently take
  2. Before you arrive

    • Book ahead for specialist and clinic days
    • Fast 8–10 hours if a fasting test was requested
    • Arrive 10–15 minutes early for registration
    • Arrange a support person if you may need help getting home
  3. Registration

    • Present your ID and cover details at the desk
    • Confirm your phone number for follow-up
    • Ask about expected costs before treatment where possible
  4. Consultation

    • Describe symptoms, when they started and what helps
    • Mention allergies, pregnancy or chronic conditions
    • Ask questions — write down the answers if it helps
  5. Laboratory preparation

    • Follow fasting instructions exactly
    • Drink water unless told otherwise
    • Confirm when and how results will reach you
  6. Payment & insurance

    • Confirm what your cover includes before treatment
    • Request an itemised invoice
    • Keep receipts for reimbursement claims
  7. Discharge & follow-up

    • Repeat your treatment instructions back to the clinician
    • Note your review date and warning signs to watch for
    • Save our number in case anything changes at home
